I'M 51 YRS OLD. I HAD MY LAST PERIOD 1-23-08. HAD 2 BACK SURGERIES IN FEB. 08, WAS TESTED BY HOSPITAL FOR PREGNANCY AND WAS NEGATIVE. I HAD SEX FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE SURGERIES 4-12-08. NO I'M GETTING CRAMPING AND HAVE DIRRHEA, CAN I BE PREGNANT. UP TO J-23-08 I GOT MY PERIOD EVERY 28 DAYS LIKE CLOCK WORK. WHY WOULD IT JUST STOP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

There coud be a number ofreasons the one that definately comes to mind is menopause. At 51 have you noticed any of the symptoms? Do an internet search but usually the ones that are the most noticeable are the hot flashes, irritabilaty, mood swings...ect.
Even the stress from the back surgery can cause your period to take a temporary hiatus.
Of course, anytime you have unprotected sex there is the possibility of getting pregnant so taking a test wouldn't be a bad idea.
If your last encounter was on the 12th of april a HPT would defiantely show by now if you were pregnant.
