I am a 54 year old male with diabetic neuropathy, Recently I have been getting cramps every four hours that extend from my toes to my calves. This severe pain stays about 10 minutes. Is there anyone else out there on this much dilaudid with this problem what have you done to prevent the cramps. Also, has anyone gotten themselves off of dilaudid shots without the use of methadone or suboxan? My sleep consists of no more than 3 hours at a time. My pain levels are 7-8 but with the cramps its a definate 10. Any suggestions at all would be welcome. Going to Johns Hopkins in January. I've already tried the spinal cord stim. and nerve decompression surgery and plazma pheresis. My doctor just this week added fentyl 100 mg patches to help with the pain. I feel totally useless and helpless. Good family support but can't work or do anything. Spend my day lying down. Please help!
