Unilateral phrenic palsy is a condition where there is paralysis or weakness of the diaphragm muscle on one side, often resulting from injury or trauma during surgery. This can cause breathing difficulties and other symptoms.

It's important to note that every individual's experience may be different, and it's always best to consult with your doctor for personalized advice. That being said, some individuals with phrenic palsy may experience ongoing symptoms such as heaviness or discomfort on the affected side of the chest. It's possible that the sensation you're feeling could be related to the phrenic palsy.

The use of crutches and walking with limited mobility can also contribute to strain on the chest muscles and potentially exacerbate the discomfort. Spirometry, which measures lung function, is often recommended in cases of phrenic palsy to assess respiratory function and monitor any changes over time.
