My mother is 59 years old and she has been suffering from depression for the past ten years, ever since my father died. And the menopause just made the things ten times worse. Beside the physical symptoms, her depression issues become a serious problem. I would like to know if strong depression includes psychotic elements. Or there is some other condition occurring? What should I do with her?

It looks like the situation has become really serious and therefore I would recommend you to take her to her doctor immediately. Psychotic elements might be the part of her depression but if it is, then her depression developed drastically and that means some other symptoms might show up, something like suicidal thoughts and those have to be avoided.
