There’s so much talk on loosing weight but never any talk on gaining it either.
Few year ago I was at the perfect body weight, had big shoulders e.t.c but then I started smoking and lost all my weight and went really thin. I started smoking about a year and half ago now and haven’t touched a cig since but didn’t gain any weight from it. Im 5”11 and 9 and a half stone ish but really slim and boney.
I have tried eating the right nutrition, working out, eating the right foods, drinking weight gain shakes/protein shakes e.t.c you name it, ive tried it. But no matter how much I try to gain weight I can’t. My question is does anybody have any advice on gaining weight as I hate the way I look?
Cheers.

I too have had issues gaining weight and then, to top it all off, I lost 20 lbs. over a 10 year period and no one seemed concerned except me. My face has thinned to skin on bones paper it seems. I look 20 years older than I am and looks are an important issue to me considering I work in the public eye. I am 5'3" and currently weigh 92 lbs. That is a humongous gain from 2 years ago at 84 lbs. Yes, I was 84 lbs and no one but me was concerned. Yikes! Digestion issues was the main culprit as I finally found out that I was gluten intolerant. It was my hematologist who diagnosed me after the gastro geek examined every orifice of my body, on two separate occassions, over a 5 year period. At any rate, I finally gained that 8 lbs. over an 8 month period and am now at least holding onto it. The Celiac Disease had been so prevalent for such a long time, I was not getting nutrition from the foods I ate. My muscle mass has been drastically reduced due to my body starving for food/fat and it was attacking itself to stay alive. First thing I did was made all of may meals from scratch. No more processed foods, NONE! No preservatives, except for natural preservatives like citric acid and salt. My ideal weight goal is 107 lbs. Yes, I know that sounds low, but I have never weighed more in my life except for 2 pregnancies. I really watch what I eat and I eat a lot! My appetite has never been lacking. By going on the gluten free diet, I began absorbing nutrients from all of my foods and that is how I gained what I did. For the 10 year period that I probably should have been diagnosed as Celiac Disease, I also became intollerant of milk and eggs. Wow! What a shock to the system. After 18 months of sipping goat's milk, I can finally drink pasturized skim milk in moderation without problems. and here is the real kicker...I can drink cow's milk, right from the dairy, without issues at all. The dairy is a hormone free facility and I drink the milk in moderation also. Makes you wonder what they add to your food all of the time, huh?
Next try is to exercise more and build muscle mass. Have to do all in moderation since I do not want to lose what I have so preciously gained.
