Well after writing my last post while ago i had did it on my phone and some of it did not make sense, so im going to give you the run down on my experience. I had got on the depo after my daughter was born in 2003, keep in mind at this time i was 18. I stayed on it for 2 year almost exactly and from then on i never got back on ANY sort of birth control. I am now 27 so it has been 9 years almost 10. I have been married twice both of which has or had kids before and after me plus a few boyfriends in between one of which had 5 kids so i know in my gut its not any of them not being able to have kids. I have my period every month almost on the dot so my doctor tells me even after my exams that i should have no problem with concieving a child and that if i still have trouble concieving and want to get test done than i can. I dont about some people but i cant afford those sort of test and my incsurance sure as hell wont cover it. I have been with my current boyfriend whom to which i plan on marrying in the near future but when i sit and think about it i cant live with myself not knowing i want another one, he for sure wants a kid of his own and my kids want another sibling and i cant produce one and nobody can tell why or when or if it is even possible. Now i dont know anything about lawyers and cant even afford one but if anyone talks to one and gets something going i can give out my number and anformation or whatever is needed. These companies need to pay and stop this drug.

I started on Depo when I was 17 b/c my periods were so horrific they didn't know what else to do for me. It did the trick, after my second shot my periods stopped and I had no side effects from it. I used it continuously for 10 years!! 2.5 yrs ago me and my boyfriend decided that we wanted children (we have been together for 12yrs now) I went off my depo and had side affects for the first 6 months (signs as if I were pregnant) after 7 months my periods finally returned. Now we have been technically trying for 2.5 yrs but with no luck and I am almost at my wits end b/c every month I know that I have to go through 2 days of excruciating pain(my periods are right back to the way they were) all in the name of having a child. My doctor doesn't think there is anything wrong and he says just to be patient. We have tried and "not tried" (people said trying too hard could cause it not to happen) now I am back to tracking my ovulation and we will try again, if nothing happens in a couple months I think I will have to have some words with my Dr!!!!

I am 34 and I used depo provera in my early twenties for three years. I have not tried IVF due to the emotional and financial burden, but I do suspect depo provera being the cause of my infertility. My husband and I have been married and trying to conceive over a 9 year period. For a three month period I used ovulation tests and sadly discovered that I do not ovulate. I feel like so much has been taken from me! After doing more research I discovered that depo may also lead to significant loss in bone density. I plan on researching my options regarding filing a lawsuit.

Hi I was on depo for nearly 10 years came off, approx 117months ago. I came off the depo to start a family, after 12months of no AF i went to the drs for some guidance, they have sent me for scans, blood tests and everything came back normal, they gave me a course of provera 3 months, that was unsuccessful, so loosing hope and my mind, i signed up for reflexology, thinking it was worth a try after a colleuge recommended it...that was 2 weeks ago and i started my AF, im not sure it is coincedence, but it may be worth a try for others too. I have heard it has been successful for others. sessions are normally between 30-55 quid they advised for weekly sessions to start with....good luck....everything worth a try!

one single shot of depo at 18 ruined my perfectly working hormones and libido. i'm now 35 and have spent the last 17 years SUFFERING. Depo should be an illegal substance and ought to be handled like nuclear toxic waste. It will ruin your life; you're better off jumping off a 10 storey building - your chances of recovery will be better. Doctors who prescribe this poison to young women should have their ovaries or testes removed.

I recommend you don't go on the pill so as to get your period back - it just means continuing not to ovulate. I didn't bleed for 11 months after my one and only (regret) shot. Try and find good naturopaths, holistic healers , herbalists, whatever you can afford. If you can avoid any more prescription drugs, do so, they only cover the symptoms whilst causing a heap of unwanted further problems, eg. metformin. Don't wait for the cascade of after-shocks, not ovulating is the beginning. Any hormonal disruption leads to others, no bodily system -especially hormonal- is 'independent'. Be proactive about helping yourself, as naturally as you can, and as difficult as it may seem, don't poison yourself with stressing about it. Stress means cortisol and a chronic hyper-cortisol state can be as detrimental as another shot of depo. Good luck.
