I think you should communicate your concern to your gynecologist. If you feel uncomfortable to do so, write down or type your thoughts on a piece of paper, and hand it to him/her during your next visit. Since a fetus is totally dependent on its mother's blood for nourishment, any adverse changes in your blood chemistry will cause corresponding changes in the blood chemistry of your fetus. One potential side effect of glyciphage sr500(Metformin) is hypoglycemia. Symptoms may include dizziness, feeling faint, and sudden hunger. Should you become hypoglycemic, your fetus will too. Common sense tells you that this will be most damaging to the fetus' developing brain. If you have to take glyciphage during your pregnancy, you will have to monitor your blood glucose very closely, and carry an adequate supply of glucose tablets with you wherever you go.
