I have noticed over the years that my foreskin occasionly looks gray-white, like having dry skin. I am circumsized, and the skin I am referring to is onthe shaft of my penis from just below the crown to about 1 or 2 inches downward. The situation never caused an inability to perform, however, until now. My current girlfriend requires additional lubrication. Since I have never needed it before, I sometimes do not use extra lube, or do not notice that I neeed more lube until it is too late. The result is that the skin below the crown will get very red and swollen. The nnext day the condition disappears but the result is that now I have a cronic flaky skin condition. I have tried lotion and vitamin E oil, but it looks like I 'burned' or damaged the outer layer of skin and it never heals. Though it usually looks normal, after masturbation the skin looks dry and flaky again. I feel as if I need to be abstinate for 6 months or so to allow the skin to regrow and heal. My dry skin issue was not a real problem (though I don't know why I have this condition either), and now I have a 'permanent' problem. Any ideas?

I think I know what you are talking about. My brother was also having troubles with the same thing. I know this condition gave him big headaches as he was too lazy to go see his GP and the condition was only worsening. In the end he had to see the doc and he diagnosed him with eczema.
You didn’t mention if your skin was itching. The itch, accompanied with redness and dry skin were the biggest problems concerning my brother’s penis. I know he was scratching it and scratching it, and he was only making it worse.
What I know is that eczema could be acute, chronic and infected. The chronic eczema could be what you have since you said it’s been lasting for some time already.
What you need to do is to immediately go see your GP, you will surely be given the proper therapy.

Thanks for the response.

I do not believe it is eczema. I googled 'eczema' and all responses mentioned redness and itchy skin. I do not have either. When I have sex that is not lubricated, (many men probably have sex with "Miss Michigan' this way), my drness becomes noticable but I don't get red or itchy. Intercourse on the other hand (no pun intended) is less gentle and can sometimese redden my skin without lubrication. The real mystery is that I have been going out with the same woman for 2 1/2 years and this wasn't a problem until about a year or so ago. Now, it is a more constant problem but still not itchyness. Dam it Beavis!

You could have a yeast infection, and you and your girlfriend could be passing it back and forth. An antifungal creme like monistat can help clear it up - you will both need to be treated. Using Man1 Man Oil, which has Shea butter, can help with the dryness and flaking.
