So I rarely wear earrings but I have been more lately than ever, tonight when I took my earrings out I noticed my right hole looked darker than my left and it had been bothering me slightly for a few days. I pushed the back of my ear lobe and squeezed the front hole like I was popping a pimple, after doing this for a few seconds a small, gold peice of metal came out of my piercing hole!! It has completely freaked me out and I have no idea where it came from, iv been messing with my other ear all night because I'm worried there is something in that one too... I checked all my earrings and nothing looks tarnished or broken. I'm confused as to what it is or how it got in my piercing hole because I only wear silver earrings and the small square metal was gold... Has this happend to anyone else?

Tell Your Parents i know it might be a little scary and you might be afraid to tell them but if you don't it could get VERY VERY VERY infected

Trust me, this happens to me so many times. The last time was actually 2 days ago and i finally took it out today. Based on experience, you can take it out by yourself but it's going to hurt and you will have to deal with it. For me, the hole on the back of my ear is slightly bigger than the front. After taking the earring out, i would use an earring or a pin to push the stud backing against the back of my ear as good as possible. After that, i would use a needle or a pin to attempt to lift the stud backing out of the back ear. If that don't work, then i would try to place the pin through the hole in the stud backing and then pull. Usually, that's how i get it out. It takes time, but i have managed to get my stud backing out this way. Since my last attempt took me 2 days to get it out, i'll just stick with something else to prevent this from happening again.

For a tube type earring back that gets stuck in the earelobe, one good method for removing this is using a hand embroidery needle (which has a nice rounded non-sharp end) to push the tube from front to back out the back of the earlobe.  We just used this method on a 9 year old girl. This works because the rounded needle is able to keep the tube oriented properly during the push.   Make sure to sterilize the needle before using.

no, they will just cut it out just get ice and numb her ear and turn on the tv and tell her to watch the tv on her favorite channel get the twezers and a flashlight and try to identify the earring. then if u didnt find it take her to a doctor but if u can see it take the twezers and try to pull it out it wont hurt ive done it before it doesnt hurt then take the earrings out of both ears and get her a different pair

I maybe a little too late but if anyone can reply back and let me know...we recently found out that my 4 year old niece's earrings are stuck in her ears. We thought she lost the backing to them but their still in there and won't come out. I think she skin healed up over the backing. So I am a little bit worried..shes not in any pain but we went to her main doctor and she said that they might have to surgically remove them. So I am a little bit worried about that. She is in no pain at all but the earrings been in her ears since July. Any idea what to do?
