My father is 56 years old and has just been diagnosed with parkinson's disease. He considers himself a practical man, so he started informing himself about the ways he can fight his condition. Yesterday he told me that end stage parkinson's disease could be very traumatic for both him and his family. Is that true?

Well, it is. My father passed away three years ago, after exactly 15 years of struggle with symptoms that got worse from year to year. He was 71 when he died and he did not want to be put on tubes or anything similar, he said that when he could not sustain himself, he must be let go. Even so, those years were wonderful, so use them wisely.
