Hi. I'm 45 year old female and after one car accident with head trauma two years ago I started to suffer from epileptic strokes. My neurologist prescribed me Phenobarbiton and I have used it all this time.
About four days ago my neurologist recommended me drug change and prescribed me Phenitoin.
I have noticed a big change with this drug and I started to feel like never before but this morning I have woken up with red spots like some red rush all around my body. You couldn’t even imagine how terrifying this looks like. Could this be that erythema multiforme, an allergic reaction?

I believe this really is a case of drug allergy. If your have these red spots all around your body, like you have mentioned, than this specific type of rush has his own name and it is called erythema multiforme.
Erythema multiforme is an allergic reaction with many different causes and one of them is definitely drug allergy. You have mentioned Phenitoin, drug that is famous by its side effects.
It often starts on trunk, face and in mouth but after some time it can spread to the trunk, face, and mouth in severe cases.
You should know also one important thing- Erythema multiforme is not contagious.
Treatment of mild symptoms may include moist compresses applied to skin lesions and medications such as antihistamines to control itching.
