I am an R.N. in grief. Son died of suspected drug interaction of methadone and benzos. I saw, watery blood stain on sheet, about 16 inch diameter, half inch frothy pink sputum on lips and chin. Found dead in a seizure contracture position of arms legs somewhat fetal position and indications of being on left side. Coroner says maybe ten weeks till he knows everything. All I was told is the lungs were wet. Can you tell me the pathway of shutdown in body and the probable resultant events? What would come first, then what next, etc.? I am thinking resp. depression, cardiac event, kidney shutdown, where would the neuro reaction come in? With these meds is it seizure then Cardiac? I know that this is not a lot to go on when you have not got the tox and pathology report, however, I am looking for the flow chart or order of typical shutdown events assuming that the drug interaction is what cause demise. He was otherwise a healthy 23 year old man. :'(
