Since June 2008 I have gained 50 pounds. Around this time I started taking Suboxone, Remeron, Cymbalta, and Restoril. I am very depressed about my situation, which has also affected by self-esteem.
I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Obsevive Compulsive Disorder,Chari Malformation, Spinal Bifida and I have 2 pinched nerves in my back. I am a former educator with a Masters Degree in Education. I resigned after 16 years. I am currently unemployed but I am continuning my education, working on a Masters in Mental Health and Certified Drug and Alcohol Addiction. I have no medical insurance. I went to a sliding scale treatment site. They did lab work. My thyroid level was 9.1 ( normal is 4.5). They prescribed me Lacix, and Potassim. I usually wear sizes 3-5 and now wear 9-11. Could any of the meds have contributed to my problem? Could I have any sugesstions that could help me with my current medical problem? I am a white female, 5'3", and am 40 years old. I am also having irregular menstral cycles. I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes. The medications you are on, unfortunately, can cause weight gain.
The biggest concern I have with your post is why aren't you taking any thyroid medication?
Lacix is to help prevent fluid retention and the Potassium is to cover the loss of potassium from your body caused by the Lacix.
I know it is hard not having medical insurance, I'm about ready to face the same dilema. However hyperthyroid can make you very sick and you do need to go to a doctor and have blood work so you can get treated with the correct meds.
I was diagnosed with Grave's Disease in my 30's and I do know it can cause all sorts of issues and litteraly make you feel terrible. Not to mention the impact it has on your body (heart palputations, high blood pressure, loss of hair, menustral issues, bulging eyes, iritability, etc).
Try to find the money to get to the doctor.
