I use propylthiouracil for Grave's disease too. But, beside this my knowledge about this medication is small. I will write you what I found about it. The main function of propylthiouracil is to prevent organification of iodine. If that does not occur, thyroid hormone production increases. These drugs also reduce thyroid antibody levels.
