Hi I’m an 18 year old uncircumcised male, I have been having Sex for 2 years now, but only with the one girl.
Recently I was having sex and was going for longer than usual so after about 50 mins I realise its getting quite dry down there and we have no lube but I kept going although slightly uncomfortable, I went deep on one thrust and felt a ping and a sharp pain so I pull out and see my Penis is bleeding ALOT we freak out and she gets me loads of bog roll, I feel like I'm about to faint. I had obviously torn my frenulum, after the initial sting it stopped hurting and now a couple of days on it feels ok (I haven’t touched it in anyway and haven’t had a real erection since). However there is now a lump of skin that sticks out when I pull back my foreskin, kind of like a fin, which makes me feel it’s completely torn beyond repair.
Now my question is that if it has completely torn beyond repairing itself what does that mean for me? Is sex still possible when the frenulum is completely severed?
If so, should i just leave the skin that sticks out?
How long should I wait until I have sex again? And in terms of professional opinions who is best to go to who won’t suggest circumcision?
Any advice or help will be much appreciated

Hi carefree,
Just because the frenulum tore it does not mean you need a circumcision.
Do yourself a favor and go see a urologist for a consultation. They can tell you what, if anything, needs to be done. The frenulum does tear on a lot of guys. It may be possible to repair it. There is also a procedure called a frenuloectomy in which they may remove the frenulum (not circumcision) so it does not interfere with intercourse.
It needs to be seen to determine what treatment options are available.
Don't delay treatment. The longer you wait the more likely that there will be problems in treating this tear. It needs to be looked at now and don't be embarrassed by it. The urologist has seen it all.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks medic-dan for that advice,
I have an appointment on Thursday afternoon to get it checked out.
My initial panic is subsiding as it is healing well, all I think is wrong is possibly a piece of skin may need removing so it doesn’t interfere with sex but other than that everything seems in order.
I shall update what is actually wrong on Thursday when I know what needs to be done, if anything.
Thanks again

Excellent, thank you. :-D
I just reread my post and I didn't mean they actually remove the frenulum as such but they can lengthen it or loosen it so it doesn't interfere, or be as likely to tear. Sorry about that. I don't know why I said remove.
The urologist will explain the options. Keep us posted.

Sorry for the delay.
Basically I was worrrying too much, everything is fine and as it happened I had sex again (with a condom and lube) and no problems occured.
The Urologist said it had healed well and although not the same as before if it didnt cause any discomfort it will be as good as ever. Hopefully it won't tear again.
So thanks for the help medic-dan.

Hey there,
I had a similar experience. My partner and I were having sex when I realized I had rubbed too hard and tore my frenulum. After the initial shock and healing process... I have to admit it's the best thing to have happened. I'm uncircumcised, but now that i don't have a frenulum, I can manage to pull pack the entire foreskin the full length of my penis making it much tighter and hard. I almost feel circumcised when I masturbate. As a result, I've ended up with the best of both worlds, the sensitivity of being uncircumcised, but the tightness and roughness of being cut. Enjoy!
