Ok so here's the deal. I'm sexually active with the same guy. I'm on birth control take it pretty close to the same time every single night I never miss, and I've been on it for about 5 years. My boyfriend and I are very safe. We use spermicidal condoms, and he never comes inside the condom inside me , with the exception of one time.

I've been on many different types of birth control pills and after i was on seasonal for a year and a half I switched to loestrin fe.

The thing is I haven't gotten my period in a little over two months. I've taken numerous pregnancy tests all of which have come back negative. I'm a student I'm stressed out all the time I have a feeling I'm missing for this reason.

However, I've had brown discharge before while I was on seasonal, and I just today started having clotted brown discharge. What does this mean, I'm confused and worried. Help!

You should definitely get tested for pregnancy by a doctor. Though in most cases home pregnancy kits are accurate there is still a chance that it's not. In some cases you may not have enough hormones in your system to have an accurate test this is why most doctors recommend waiting 1 to 2 weeks after what should be the END of your period before testing to get the most accurate results.

Even on birth control your period may be erratic especially if you're stressed out. One of my siblings is on birth control and she only receives her period every couple of months. Even if you've always been regular there's always a chance it will change. The brown discharge may be blood that has just sat in your body for a bit before being discharged this is a normal occurrence. If this persists you should make an appointment with a doctor to make sure.

I hope this helps in some way.

the discharge is your period (blood becomes brown after long periods of exposure). You're not getting your period because you're stressed out.

Thanks for your help guys. I just started today right before it has been three months. So it's probably because I'm just stressed out and don't eat very well.
