My husband, a dialysis patient was on atenenol (150 mg). It was an increase from 50 (mg), a month before he died of heart failure. Would atenenol have significantly contributed to his death?

Please let me know! I have never heard of this. I am on this drug for PVC's and am only 29. The other day I had a terrible pain in my chest but dismissed it because I am so young. Don't scare me like that! You really think it may have been from this drug?

I have been taking Atenolol (now up to 50mg three times a day) for about ten years for an irregular heartbeat. No problems with the Atenolol for me. My irregular heartbeats are from cardiac sarcoidosis.

Don't worry abou the atenolol, I've been taking it for over 25 years and it's perfectly safe, at least the Doctor told me I have nothing to worry about.
The only thing is it makes me tired because it slows the pulse rate down.
I take it for skipped heart beats and I now take 100 mg a day.
I started out with 25 mg but you know the body can become somewhat used to things. Hope this helps ease your mind.

What medications can cause hearts lower chamber to slow down? I ended up having to have a pacemaker installed as my heart rate had dropped to 25/27 bpm. Was on Diovan 1xday and Atenolol 2xday prior.

Just reduced atenolol usage for high blood pressure from 100 mg to 50 and added quinolin. Can't seem to get the "feeling" worked out. What are the symptoms that would be considered normal?
