Hi, I need to ask something about my father's condition. He has experienced a fake heart attack, as doctors said. He was under oxygen for several hours and now he seems fine. They just mentioned some sort of Heart Virus and did not tell much at all. Should we be concerned about his health? Are additional tests needed? He is 56 years old and in a good shape for his age.

I must admit that doctors in his case really left your father in the mist. Heart virus is possible, myocarditis is the name, caused by inflammation of the heart muscle and that can happen because of virus, bacteria etc. I assume that they ran EKG on your father and that it showed all they needed to know for a diagnose. If he feels all right now, well, that is a good thing, and hopefully he will not have any heart problems again.
