My 15 year old has had a hemangioma on his left testicle that is now causing some pain and swelling. Ultrasound showed no torsion, seems to have excess blood vessels - but what else is a hemangioma?? Warm soaks nightly for a month and ibuprofin therepy for 1 week - no change. Any ideas?

My 15 year old just had surgery to remove a scrotal hemangioma. It is extremely rare and benign growth of blood vessels in the endothelial wall of the skin of the scrotum. It needed to be removed. He had a dull ache and it was the size of a testicle and growing. The urologist had a challenge to remove it and it took a solid two weeks for my son to be up and around. But they say it will not grow back.
