Hi. I am almost 19 and I’ve noticed that the left side of my scrotum is a little swollen. That concerned me so I decided to examine myself. I felt my two testicles, and also a little mass of something in there too. Is this normal?? Should I be checked by a GP??? Thanks

Man, anything strange or unordinary with your testicles should be examined by a GP – you’re your sake. What you’ve felt could be just a simple cyst or some other benign problem but it could be something serious as cancer. I must stress that testicles cancer is the most common cancer of solid organs in young men so I strongly recommend you to se your GP.

You have a VERICOSCELE it is a mass of blood vessels near the left testicle. I have the same thing. The discomfort is relieved by lying down because when you do all of the blood drains from the vessels.

Vericosceles are harmless. Some men report discomfort or even pain that comes and goes. Surgery is an option, however the results are usually not successful and in many cases exacerbate the problem.
