Hi please excuse me if i have spelling mistakes. I have one brother he is my life he has bought me up since our adoptedmum died. My brother is gay and 25 years ago told me he was hiv its only the last three years he has detiorated i believe his kidneys are not working that well. I found out last week he has cancer of the lymph nodes its in his chest, stomach and under the arms. Ive just been talking to him.on the phone and he says its hodgekinsons. My mind is all over the place i read it is curable but he also told me its stage four my brother has always been quite a secretive person and has sometimes exagerated a problem but i do know he has cancer. His skin also looks yellow and im.not sure if its the cancer or his organs x

I'm sorry to hear your brother is this sick. Generally, yellowing of the skin and eye whites is the main symptom of liver problems, even potentially liver failure. This can be caused by certain lifestyle choices (too much alcohol or too much dugs), but there is also a chance that maybe your brother's cancer has spread and is now affecting his liver. It makes a little or none at all difference to know what exactly is causing the liver problems, especially in the situation when your brother is HIV positive and has cancer. It's mostly up to his doctors to find a way to preserve at least some of the healthy parts of his liver, and to fight the other conditions as best as they can,
