how accurate would a hiv test be post exposure 34 days. the clinic offered a rapid blood test which they say was a more sensitive one. how accurate would it be??
We normally don't give just one test. Our protocol is as follows:
1. Test at exposure - to rule out that you already had been exposed.
2. Test at 30 days.
3. Test at 60 days. If this test is negative then it is VERY LIKELY you are NOT infected.
4. Test at 90 days. This confirms the 60 day results.
34 days is early. It does take some time for levels to rise high enough to be detected.
Hope it helps.
