generally, after the hydrocele operation there are stitches, swelling and pain that pretty much dictate if you can have the intercourse or not. It's usually recommended not to have sex until the stitches come off, but it also depends on how extensive the surgery was. Most doctors will recommend to wait 10 to 14 days - or more  - if there are any post-op complications including the prolonged swelling or pain, but the besides waiting for your body to tell you if you are ready or not, it is definitely the best to follow the advice your surgeon has given you since he/ she is the one who knows your situation the best.
