I had my period the 16th of October. Exactly two weeks after on the 29th my boyfriend came inside of me. On the 11th of November I took a pregnancy test because he was worried (I wasn't. Being stupid and thinking nothing like pregnancy would happen to me since it has not before.) The test was negative so I wasn't really worried about it. On the 16th I didn't get my period, which was expected because my periods aren't always regular. But my boobs were sore for a couple of days. Today is the 21st of November and I still haven't gotten my period. My periods are sometimes a couple of days late but not this late. I pee frequently, my stomach cramps(mostly on the lower abdomen), I'm always tired so I don't really notice any difference there, smells are more heightened it seems, I get a little queezy every morning and throughout the day, my stomach is bloated, I'm gassy, constipated, and it looks like I've gained about 5 pounds. Lately I've been really freaking about it all because I never feel this weird. So I thought maybe me worrying to much, the symptoms are just all in my head. But I'm really not sure. I'm afraid to ask to go the doctor because I'm 17 and cannot tell my mom. I don't have the money right now for a pregnancy test but hopefully I'll get one soon. I'm also a diabetic. So if could someone please tell me what's going on? If I'm pregnant I really need to know. I don't know what could happen with my having diabetes and such. If someone could kindly tell me, I'll let my mom know and explain that I need to visit the gynecologist and my diabetic patrician.

It's possible that you're pregnant, but it's also possible that stressing about it is messing with your body. As a diabetic, you're already prone to other hormonal imbalances--my mom's diabetic and has had a number of other hormonal issues over the years. It's therefore also possible that there's something else going on that's messing with your hormones. I (and no one else on these boards for that matter) can tell you whether you are or are not pregnant. But since you asked, diabetes can certainly complicate pregnancies, since blood sugar can become harder to manage--my mom had a lot of issues in both of her pregnancies. If you're experiencing symptoms and are worried, make an appointment with your gynecologist/endocrinologist. You can just tell your mom that you've been having pain and want to check it out. It may have nothing to do with pregnancy, but either way you should make sure nothing else is wrong.

Sorry, I meant I can't tell you whether you're pregnant or not. I know it's scary and I understand the feeling of not wanting your mom to find out (I'm 22 and still on my mom's insurance, and I've also been hesitating to see a doctor about some symptoms I've been having because it's not something I can talk about with my mom, but I finally just made an appointment), but in the end, the best thing you can do is see a doctor.

As for going to the gynecologist, I'm pretty sure you can. I've never actually been to a gynecologist (I'm way overdue, that'll be my next step after my check-up/physical), but I know that usually once you hit your teens, even primary care physicians will allow you to come in alone--mainly for purposes of keeping any sexual/reproductive health issues private.
