In January of 2015 I had to see my doctor because of painful urination and some bumps around the bottom of my behind. He did not run any tests. All he did was look and feel in the vagina and said it was herpes.

That was the only “outbreak” I’ve had. If it was herpes.

Two years after that I read up a lot more on herpes and read there were blood tests for it, so I requested one from my new doctor. I did not hear back which usually is a good sign. Both doctors are now retired and I am still very confused about it all. I’ve read quite a few times that herpes can be misdiagnosed and a visual diagnosis is not the most reliable method.

I guess my question is what are your thoughts on this and what should my next step be?

Thanks.
