Actually, dissociative identity disorder primarily affects women. Persons with DID do not really have multiple personalities but have alter identity, state of consciousness as a different person. This disorder is often misdiagnosed with anxiety, depression, or panic disorder because of symptoms of affected mental health. DID can be cured with individual psychotherapy, medications and hypnotherapy. Usually, discussion of self in 3rd person, talking abouit looking through other’s eyes or never feeling alone are indications of DID.
