First, go to your parents immediately and tell them you are sexually active with protection. However, you learned that you have a cyst on an ovary and you are concerned about having children in the future. Having your parents support is the best case at this point for support and understanding. You may have to be patient with the parents until they realize that you are their daughter first and always. The next step is to find a really OB/GYN physician, preferably a female to resolve the cyst issue on your ovaries. The physician probably will go in with a scope that has a surgical device at the end. While you are under anesthesia, the pathologist will determine whether the cyst is benign or not. The physician based on the pathology report may do one of two things. The least restrictive and if the cyst is in fact benign, the cyst could possibly be remove through the scop. On the other hand if the cyst is cancerous, the ovary will probably be removed through the scope. Bottom line the surgery is non-invasive and done outpatient. But it is important to get your ducks lined up in a row: Mom and Dad, family doctor, boyfriend, clergy.
It tell my daughter as often as possible that there is absolutely nothing she could do to cause me to stop loving her with all my heart. I may get angry at her but the love remains and I will be there for at any time. Let's hope your Mom and Dad feel the same way. Good luck.
