I have recently also found what started out as a pea size lump above the clitoris, it is located up in the hood or also known as the Prepuce. The pea sized lump has gotten a bit larger and is very painful, in which I will be contacting my Dr. I'm sure it will take a few days or so to get into see my Dr. but I will return hopefully with an answer.

I'm seventeen, I'm not sexually active and I've noticed this problem too over the last week. It started out invisible under the skin, but now it's visible, raw, and on the surface. It hurts to walk quickly and stings like a b***h if touched. Hot water doesn't help, and it doesn't seem to pop when I've tried. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

im sorry but that is completely incorrect a cliterous is nothing like a penis. in the beginning yes we are genderless but it is not a small penis that doesn't grow that is just ignorant. please do not say things like that without putting down sources!
Both sexes start out as a non gender ball of cells. If you want to go that rout however we could ask as to why men have nipples yes? maybe men are just over developed females :)
The male and female are identified at conception by their chromosomes with a XX for female and XY for female. One gene the Y Gene suppresses hormones from the female in order for a male to develope the way he does. So yes if hte hormones are not suppressed they will develope male parts too... however they would be a mix gender due to the XX chromosome.. or if the Y gene is defective they will be a male with some female parts or a partly deformed penis due to the lack of suppression from the Y Gene.
Btw bad news boys the Y gene is falling apart... like in birds :D in a few thousand to maybe million years for now men might not have a penis anymore :P that sucks... probably more for us girls then u guys though lol

I've had the same or similar problems as most of you ladies off and on for years now. Most likely all of you ladies have either a swollen gland, or a sebaceous cyst(infected sweat duct.) The one thing I've found that clears up both of these issues plus many more skin issues is Turmeric Salve. This stuff works miracles! It heals up, dries up, and clears up seemingly impossible skin issues. i always have a container of this stuff around. It's invaluable. Get some and get rid of your lumps and bumps.

I have had the same problem! it started smallish and i thought maybe it was an ingrown hair but then it grew to about pea sized and it exactly like what he other comments said, above the clitoris, not visible on the surface but diffinently can be felt, a little hard, can hurt when pressure is applied, and a little to the left. So i got worried that i had something serious like cancer even though im not sexually active but too scared to confront my mom about it because that might lead to my first trip to the gynecologist which im trying to avoid because im 14. So i went scavenging the internet and ended up here which really is comforting that im not alone in this but in still worried because i havnt gotten a deffinently answer!

Same problem here. Little hard lump, above the clitoris in the hood, not visible but mine is slightly to the right. I was really worried for a moment, but 'happy' to find I'm not the only one. I'm a midwifery student and I'm used to seeing these kind of problems, like cysts due to duct obstruction in or near the labia, but had never seen something like I have. It did feel like a little cyst to me. I think I'm gonna give it a few days, see how it goes. If it's not gone or reduced in a week, I'm calling my GP.
