Hi, depending on what sort of contraception you are talking about, if you are on (the pill/implant ) you cannot get pregnant at all, that is why people take the pill, or have an implant.

Even if you were not on contraception, you can never get pregnant whilst you are having a period. You can generally only get pregnant whilst your body is ovulating, but contraception (pill/implant) stops you ovulating .

You dont even need to wear condoms , as a back up against getting pregnant, ( condom should only be worn in your case for trying to avoid getting a sexually transmitted disease)

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IT IS COMPLETELY POSSIBLE TO BECOME PREGNANT DURING YOUR PERIOD WHEN USING NO FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL! OVULATION TAKES PLACE WITHIN THE FIRST 7 TO 10 DAYS AFTER YOUR PERIOD. SPERM IS ALSO ABLE TO LIVE INSIDE THE BODY FOR UP TO ONE WEEK. CONCEPTION CAN TAKE PLACE ANYWHERE IN THE TIME FRAME OF THAT WEEK.

ON THE OTHER HAND, IT IS SAFE TO HAVE INTERCOURSE DURING WITHDRAWL BLEEDING THAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE DURING BIRTH CONTROL USE. PLEASE NOTE, BIRTH CONTROL MUST BE USED CONSISTANTLY, AND DILLIGENTLY, (NOT MISSING ANY DOSES). IT IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL IN CHOOSING TO USE CONDOMS, OR SPERMICIDES DURING THIS TIME. KUDOS FOR BEING RESPONSIBLE EITHER WAY.

Yes, she is right. My boyfriend and I hadn't had sex for 3 weeks because he was out of town with business...when he came home it was my time of the month but we had sex anyways, 6 weeks after waiting for a period I found out I was pregnant....we had not had sex since the time of my period because of very busy work schedules...needless to say, you CAN get pregnant on your period.

You can get pregnant anytime of the month. Everyone ovulates at different times and if your period is irregular you could possibly be ovulating while you are on your period. While a typical time of ovulation is 14 days, some women are very different.

And another thing, you DO ovulate while on some contraceptives if they are a low dose. I was on ortho tri. low and found out that i was still ovulating and upped to a higher dose b/c the way i look at when the time of life begins as a baby. i didn't want to take the chance of having an egg fertilized and it not being able to attach b/c i was on the pill b/c to me, that's just another form of abortion.
