Hello momsie,

Since this has been only one injection, chances are very good that the steroid injection will not have any major effect on both your baby’s health and the outcome of your pregnancy. This is because steroid shots contain natural hormones that get absorbed into the body tissue, mostly fat tissue, and do not get into your bloodstream, so they most likely will not get to the baby at all.

The only thing you should pay some extra attention is to protect yourself from getting any infections, since steroids do somewhat lower your immune system. And infection, together with the pain, might have far worse consequences than one steroid shot. Wish you and your baby all the best!
