is it safe to have sex close to your period due date?

Hi so my boyfriend and I have had sex five times since February 24th and we have been protected with a Trojan latex condom every single time . The last time we had sex was 5 days ago , and my period is usually irregular . Last month , February , I got my period on the 17th and so that's when I'm expecting it this month .. We had sex five days ago , which was march 8th . This is a little over a week before when I'm expecting my period to start ... but I'm still very worried . I know he didn't cum , and we both checked that the condom didn't break or tear . I'm getting cramps , but I'm scaring myself into thinking that these are pregnancy signs ....... or thinking that it's my period coming .... so my real question is with all this .... is having sex close to when your period comes safe ? Or wil it delay my period ?
