A tight chest is a symptom of anxiety; however, that is not to say that it definitely is. My suggestion would be is to see a doctor and let him know that you are feeling quite tense and are worried about the knot in your chest. Let him or her know that you are also seeing a counselor too. If it is anxiety, he may prescribe you something to help ease the symptoms. Research shows that therapy is effective in reducing stress and feelings of anxiety. I would give your counselor a few more times and see how it goes for you. Its hard to tell just after one session.
Wishing you all the best,
Cassie

Thanks for your testimony. You got me to pray. You're a pastor, and I'm not so great at prayer, or at anything to do with faith and observance. I still have my bits of panic, or whatever, but I'm glad I prayed for a minute. It can't ever hurt.

Hey Whistle, are you still dealing with the anxiety knot? I just found this post... I dealt with the same thing for years. So here's what happened: I ended up going to this place in Anchorage, Alaska called "White Raven Center" and they cured me of it in two hours. It was nuts. It was, basically, PTSD. How they explained it was trapped emotional energy from trauma, hurt, pain, etc. They helped me move it out through crying, screaming... even guided meditation where I was able to confront some of the trauma and heal from it. It was powerful.
So for what it's worth... you can check 'em out...

Thanks for sharing. I am very happy The Lord switched it off for you. Ive been praying for the same for myself. I think my PTSD started about 1 year after my friend committed suicide. It was unexpected and nobody knew. It was a shock and really changed me. My life is constant worry and mistrust in humanity. I love people but it's hard to get close to them. I am a PK aka Pastors daughter. I respect what you do and I know how demanding a Pastors job is. My Dad lives day and night serving the people are him and supporting his church family. I suppose it's God's way of teaching me how to trust Him more. I hope the knotunravelsfrommetoo :)
