Hello, my name is Marcus, age 36. I have a problem which is driving me crazy. 2 and 1/2 weeks ago, i woke up with pain on left side of back which radiated down to left side of groin. I also noticed that i i had a round quarter size patch of redness on my abdomen on same side where i had pain. It didnt itch but looked irritated. My lymph node on left side of groin was swollen as well as that side of my groin. It felt bruised too there. I went to dr. and he said it was possible spider bite. They checked my blood count and it came back normal. I had no other symptoms i.e. fever, testicle swelling, nausea, urinary problems, etc. He put me on Omnicef antibiotic and ibuprofin for infection. 4 days later still in pain, i went back. he said it would take awhile and gave me another antibiotic and checked my urine as well and blood again. it has now been 2 and 1/2 weeks. the only chg. has been the swelling on left groin is gone and the irritated skin patch on lower left abdomen is a bit smaller and darker. however, i still have the pain on left side down to groin, varying in degree of severity throughout day. I sleep fine but when i get up, it is still there. i have been taking advil, ibuprofin, tylenol, and finished both antibiotics a week ago. no change. i still feel the pain. i went back to dr. a 3rd time and he says it looks better and will take 1 to 2 more weeks, no need 4 more antibiotics. i am frustrated though. i worry that it may not even be the result of spider or insect bite. wouldnt that have healed by now? he didnt think i needed a ct scan or anything. ive searched hi and low for anyone with similar circumstance to no avail. can anyone help shed some light? thanks in advance.
