Some tissues during your period are normal. It isn't just blood, it's the lining of the uterus that is being shed.
Define being irregular? A few days early or late sometimes? Missing periods occasionally? It's all normal.
As to being irregular, see your doctor. It can indicate a hormonal or other problem.
