I've been on Mirena for about a month and a half now. I have PCOS and hadn't had a period in quite some time. In the month and a half since I've been on it, my normally constant, happy mood has shifted into being constantly irritable. I cry at the drop of a hat (I normally never cry) and I've been depressed to the extent that I don't want to be touched, don't want to clean my house (I'm a habitual neat-freak) and don't want to eat (I'm also a foodie). I have constant cramps and constant bleeding. I've never had a UTI, yeast, or bacterial infection - until I began taking Mirena. In the past two weeks I've had all three. I've been on 3 different kinds of birth control pills in the past and never had a problem with them.
Every body is different and will react differently to other forms of birth control. While Mirena may work for some, it clearly does not work for me.
