Your "good friend" needs to go see a doctor to get checked for an STI or STD immediately.
Burning sensation after sex is a pretty good indication that he has picked up something.
Put shame aside and go talk frankly with the doctor. You'll wish you had if you don't.
PS: Another source of feeling buring in the ureathra might be if he's gotten soap in the opening and irritated the delicate membranes or lining of his ureathra. But this sounds like something different.
PPS: Has he checked to make sure that the type of lube that he/they are using isn't some sort of "warming" or "stimulating" lube? They are quite popular these days with young couples. It's easy to make that mistake when lying in bed in the dark...
