My Beautiful Son was a happy baby constantly smiling until one night he was very fussy and tired the next day I took his temp and it was 100.7 (which is very bad in newborns)  so we rushed him to Childrens hospital. He was diagnosed with it and my heart dropped.  The first thing I did was Google the infection.  Everything I read was pretty much telling me he will die  or not be normal. I was numb. I sat by his side 21 days in the hospital because thats how long any baby with HSV needs to be on IV treatment. MY BABY SURVIVED!!!!!!!!!! It wasn't in his spine ect. I thank God everyday. It breaks my heart for all the parents that have to go through this. Especially For the ones that lost their precious angels to this Disease but KNOW It was not your fault !!!!!!!!! They don't inform your about this stuff and sometimes (Like me) you have absolutely no break outs. We Need to get this out here more because they say it's "1 percent" chance but that can't be right. It's happening more and more and while my son was in the hospital with it another baby was there for the SAME THING!!!! God bless you all. Big prayers to the ones still fighting!!
