I am father and my wife and me both are passing through a dilemma. My wife got pregnant in June, 2012 and at 12 week she went through ultrasound and everything was normal. However, when ultrasound was done at 18 week the Dr said that there is no heartbeat and growth has stopped at 13 week. This was great shock for me and for my wife but we cannot do anything. I don't know what happened and how?? Last year we went through a miscarriage at same time but the reason was different. Thanx God we have one son otherwise it would have very teasing for us. My wife has gone through miscarriages for about 5 times. I dont know why it happens and what should we do.....that it will not take place next time. Kindly help me out....thanx

Hello tah, Let me start by first saying how deeply sorry I am for what you and your wife are going through. That has to be incredibly heart breaking to live through. My heart goes out to you both, and you are in my prayers. There are literally thousands of reasons why a pregnancy does not go full term, why the baby does not survive, and unless the doctors can tell you exactly what is causing these miscarriages, you may never know. I don't know how close these pregnancies are in time, I do know that she probably should consider letting her body recover fully before trying to carry another child. I had a miscarriage many, many years ago, and my doctor recommended at least a year for physical and emotional healing before my husband and I tried again. Your wife has lost five babies & this has to be very traumatic for you both & physically draining for her. About the only thing I could think to suggest is when the time is right for you both to try again, to have a full physical exam, pelvic exam, to check for any possible uterine problems, blood work done to make sure all her hormones and vitamin levels are normal & can support a pregnancy. I really hope this has helped. Most of all prayer. Good luck and God bless.
