I have always been self consious of my vagina. The overall outer appearance with it as always given me issues. It's as if I have a bulge when I lay on my back, so I have always slept on my side. Probably why I have resisted having sex.

I assume you are talking about your vulva or more specifically your pubic mound. Your vagina is the hole where the penis goes in and tthe baby comes out. The pubic mound is just what it sounds like, a mound, it's just above the top of your slit. Some girls have larger pubic mounds and we looked for those when I was in high school. We thought a "bar of soap" was really nice.
If you mean your lips are larger, we liked those too, so don't be ashamed of your vulva it's beautiful.
