Hi, i have some problems and i need help. I have not been sexually active for 4 to 5 months. When i first noticed a change i was itchy in my vaginal area, along with my rectum. Then the itchiness went away and it got kinda red and swollen. I decided to tell someone about it and went to the doctor to have it checked out. They did a pap and exam and just said that it was a yeast infection and gave me a three day cream treatment.. well i have just used my last dose of the treatment and it don't seem to be getting any better. Actually, it seems to be getting worse. I have an open sore on the inside of my vaginal lip and every time i urinate it hurts so bad that i have tears in my eyes. I have already gotten the results back from the doctor and I do not have any std's or anything like that. I just could really use some answer. If anyone could help me i would be very thankful.

did the doctor take a swab of your vagina? normally they will take another swab (not a pap smear) and have it examined under the microscope. it sounds as though you could have bacterial vaginosa.
