Been taking Nortriptyline for about 4 to 5 months. Started taking because of Neuropathy (peripheral).I took one pill and reached up to 4 pills per day. They caused me to have insomnia. I was told to change and take them in the morning. I started over with one pill for 4 days and took 2 pills for 4 days then 3 pills for one and had a blackout while driving. This blackout occured with out warning. This medication is dangerous. I beleive that although it may help some, the risk out weigh the benifits. I almost killed myself and others.

I've been on Nortriptyline for three weeks. I only take one 25mg pill ever late afternoon around 5pm. Until recently, I've experienced non threatening side effects such as dry mouth low urine flow, etc. But, for the first time, as of yesterday, I've had unexplained blackouts and fainting. It's as if someone is turning the light switch off and on in my brain. As soon as I would faint, I would snap out of it immediately. This occurred all day long at work and during my drive home which was very scary as I drove off the road twice. Today I don't feel like myself. I am slightly light headed, headaches, and constant waves of heat pouring over me. I hate this medication.
