Hey all,
I've experienced some ovulation bleeding for just over a year now. When it first cropped last November, I was told not to worry, it was normal at my age (early 30's). After a few months, it went away, and my doctor and I were both relieved. After a long hiatus, it cropped back up in October, just a little bit that time. I underwent screening, nothing was found to be wrong (again), and my doctor (again) said it was nothing to be worried about. Last month (November) it was really bad, going on somewhat heavily for *7* days. My doctor suggested that it might be because of a lack of exercise (my summertime sports activities let up in October and end in November, plus I took a trip where I just sat around like a lump for several days). So, to test this theory, I decided to really keep up my activity level this month. Well, last month, I started spotting around day 12 and kept it up until, like I said, day 19. THIS month, I'm on day 16, and still no signs of spotting. Could it really be this simple? Could just making sure I get an average of 60 minutes a day of moderate physical activity be the key? I know exercise impacts hormones, but all I did this month was make sure I got my 10,000 steps a day, and that seems to have "cured" it???
Beyond that, does anyone have any thoughts on "averaging" exercise? Sure, MOST of the time, I can at least get my walks in, but there are times I just want or need to be lazy for a few days (vacation, getting sick, etc.). Can I really not take a day or two off early in my cycle, or risk ovulation bleeding again? Over the course of an entire month, I'm sure I can maintain an average of 5 miles walking or other equivalent exercise, but it's not always possible on every single day.
