I agree with you. The best care I have received has been from male doctors. I went to a female doctor when I was 22 because my friends said female doctors are so much better. The doctor I went to was horrific - bad attitude, made we feel stupid when she would ask me questions about my body that I didn't know the answer to like "are you ovulating?" How is a 22 year supposed to know if you don't explain to her what ovulation feels like? And she did not give me any explanations. She treated me like I was making a big deal of symptoms - I went to her when I had a "cold" for almost 8 weeks and she completely dismissed me. Terrible! Other female doctors have treated me similarly or talked to me like I am mentally deficient meaning they tell me what I already know but don't discuss details even after I ask pointed questions. It makes me think either they don't understand me, don't think I would understand if they told me or just don't care.
All of the male doctors that I have had have been nothing but caring, thoughtful, intelligent and professional. They discuss details to educate me and listen to me. We explore together treatment options, course of action and prognosis. They treat me as an equal and have never made me feel uncomfortable. Never.
This is why I will not have a female as my primary doctor.

Which she did without a second thought. I very much appreciated that
