I am considering myself a relatively wise person with 30 years of life passed by. But I somehow still cannot deal with the fact that there are people without scruples who put their interest in first place not caring about the others. I see examples of that everywhere, my company also! It is as if a fight for a position is a battle to death where everything is allowed, if it will make you look better in boss's eyes. I think that you are just experiencing the cruelty of life. Unfortunately, you are dealing with human relations in your company, which is a fine example of what people can turn into if they are in stressful situation. People tend to change and the environment could have big effects on them. I also have similar problems but I managed to make some distance between my colleagues and me, I go there to finish my job and that is it. Fortunately, I have family, hobbies, I save my energy for them. You should try to look it from the brighter angle.
