The very sad fact is that most doctors have no skills when it comes to treating pain. Most don't even know the difference between addiction and dependence. The DEA is our biggest problem. Because they can't control illegal drugs they attack people in pain. We need to do what Portugal did 16 years ago and decriminalize all drugs. They have very few overdoses and the number of addicts decreases every year. Plus they aren't throwing away billions on a lost cause.

I don't think that doctors don't give a c**p, they're terrified of the DEA who apparently has no problems practicing medicine without a license.

You all should be very concerned about liver failure due to Acetaminophen overdoses. I understand everyone has built up tolerances to meds but that's alot to take and you will eventually go into liverfailure... decrease the Acetaminophen guys... it's a painful death....

Have no idea what your talking about because my totally disabled husband only has to pee every six months for them and his meds are on his records and they just pull it up on computer. They do t say boo to him about his meds which are a lot more than I see you all taking here because his pain has to stay down because barely survived a aortic dissection. We have had no trouble with VA meds wise.

My pain killer (norco 10/325) I have been taking for 12 years is not helping any more! What can my doctor give me to help with the pain?

Charli…you are sooo right! Addiction and dependence is two completely different animals! Millions are dependent on all kinds of medication to keep them functioning, not just pain meds. My husband has a med he takes for his heart to which he is dependent. He would likely die without it. Makes me furious when pharmacists play doctor.
