I've had my period since August 14th. Today is November 13th. It seems like it's still following a cycle. Cramps, heavy bleeding, light bleeding, spotting - then it starts back with cramps. I don't have health insurance, but i sucked it up and went to the Dr around week 6. She said this was probably because I've been on the patch, Ovcon, Implanon, and Yaz within a 5 year time frame. She then sent me for blood work to test my thyroid and thats not the problem. Over $500 down the drain. Oh here's the funny part. When the thyroid test came back normal, she offered to put me on the highest strength birth control there is because she knew I couldn't afford the ultrasound. Thanks, but no thanks, Dr. Freck!
Is a 13 week long period ever normal? Last year I had a 12 week long period, and went to the hospital with no health insurance. They charged me $2000 to tell me I'm not anemic, and that it was probably a result of the birth control I was on then - Implanon.
I haven't been on birth control since March.
I don't do drugs.
I rarely drink.
I am sexually active.
I am physically active.
I am a student, but a lazy, unstressed one.
CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME???? I'M TOO POOR TO AFFORD THIS c**p!!!!

Hi hon! You are NOT alone with this condition there are many names for it so I will post the below link for you to take a look at
http://www.brooksidepress.org/Products/Military_OBGYN/Textbook/AbnormalBleeding/Bleeding.htm
Depending on the pill that you are on, then it can be because of that! When I was researching this for you, I came upon one site that had too much advertising and popups but it stated that IF you stopped the drug immediately it would kick start a regular period!
I think that you are on a pill with too much estrogen, and your brain and ovaries aren't in sinc! Sotake a luck at this site, and why don't you try coming off EVERYTHING right away, and see if that helps you in a couple of days! IF it does, you could ask your doctor to put you on another pill! Also know that you AHVE to use protection, while messing around with the pill, as it doesn't work for 1 month! I hope this helps you out, and please keep me updated! Good health and luch!
