Pilonidal Abscess, what are the chances of this healing by itself?

Hi, Well about a week ago I felt a pain at the top of my bum, It was firm and really hurt when I got up too fast after sleeping or if I sat down. Then 2 days later it starting producing a brown/pink substance and it smelt vile. After a week or so now It just bleeds quite a lot. I know its a Pilonidal abscess as I went to my GP and he prescribed me Antibiotics. as all the infection has gone away ad the pain isn't as bad but is still pretty sore, Do you think this will heal by itself as I have just finished my course of Antibiotics and I cover it up with padding everyday so I can actually go out of the house without having to worry, I just want to be able to enjoy myself without this pain anymore. I really don't want to have surgery but I just want to know what are the chances of this healing by itself? I'm 17 about to turn 18 in 2 days so I would like to be able to enjoy it with my family with out having to worry.
