Hi I'm a 14 year old boy and I think I have pilonidial sinus/cyst but I'm not sure.
I had a very bad cold in December 2007 and when I was lying down, I suddenly felt extreme pain by my rectum. It eventually faded away while I was asleep though.
A few days or a week later, I realized there was a lump by my anus. It hurt when I pressed it, sometimes when I sat and it hurt quite a lot when excreting. There would be some blood on the toilet paper. I also had a problem that mostly whenever I farted, there would be some light brown liquid coming out with it as well, so I had to keep a tissue in between my butt to stop it going on my underwear.
A few months later, the lump started fading away and there was not much pain as before, but it sometimes came back when I excreted. A few weeks later, the problems were mostly gone (except the pain and blood when excreting). A few days later, I realized there was some liquid on my underwear. I thought the lump had come back but it hadn't. I thought it just came out when I farted, but it happened again and again and it seemed like it just comes out by itself. So again, I had to have a tissue in between my butt.
One day after excreting, I decided to see where the blood was coming from. I saw a small hole right above my anus and the light brown liquid and blood seemed to be coming from there when originally, they used to come out of the anus.
I am very worried that it will get infected.
I have not yet told anyone about this because I am too shy and embarrassed and don't have the courage to tell anyone although I would like to see a doctor...
Please can someone tell me what I might have? Thank you :'(

Having the same problem, but i get a slight sharp pain every so often during exersize in PE mainly no brown stuff so far tho anyone dare tell anyone yet im 15 and hoping it will go away

Don't worry I am also have the same problem.. and right now searching the net for the same, and came to know that this is a normal thing and so many others do have this problem, by the way I am 27 years old and this problem started just may be 1 or 2 year back.. but now it's getting worst slowly so I had to look up for some help from net and finally able to see so many topics on net...
But now I will surely see a doctor.. and I will advice you too... take care..

im 12 and i think i have the same problem, i have a small softy hard lump over my bum hole, this first happened yesterday, and it hurts to walk and sit, and i have had bright blood and watery light brown stuff on my tissue when i just checked it, and i didnt even have a poo or go toilet, so i dont think it's poo, im not sure thought, please help, im in pain but i wont tell my mum or dad, or dr. what is it ? and what can i do? :|

It's pilonidal sinus! AND IF YOU KEEP ON ON DOING THIS LIKE PUTTUNG TISSUES SO IT WILL GET INFECTED. AND U WOLD HAVE TO GET IT OPERATED. SO ITS BETTER TO GO TO DERMATALOGIST AND GET ANTIBIOITICS. AND IT WILL GO AWAY.

I am 28 and about the lump i can tell you i have the problem right away and this is something that
i think is a slight Hemorrhoid signs. the start i mean. for treatment :
If you have some kind of Constipation, change your dietary habits by increasing your fiber intake it will lossen your stool.
if you have bleeding you should go and say a doctor maybe it is internal hemorrhoid signs.
After all i can tell you being shy about these things is not reasonable in this situation. first tell your parents.

16, and same problem, i finally went the doctor for it, they but me on 20 different meds. none of them worked.

I had this also. Blood from the rectum drilled a tunnel into my tush, and created an abscess. I went to a proctologist, and he made the hole by the anus larger to drain the blood. I also had to stay away from sugar and flour for 6 months, as the Dr. indicated the blood seems to increase with those in your diet.
