possible not to discharge the clear slippery muccus and still ovulate?

I has this same problem this month. I always discharge the clear slippery muccas. All of a sudden this month it was distintively less. I know I ovulated at least according to my ovulation preditor that I have been using. My cycle is pretty regular always ovulate day 15 or 16. Now my problem is my husband is working out of town often so it isn't always possible to be with him when I ovulate. We both want another child and because of our age we need to do it sooner than later. Any tips on delaying ovulation even just by a couple of days. They say stress but, my stress is always there so my body has adjusted. He will be home of course for the Thanksgiving Holiday but, I am due to ovulate the sunday or monday before. Any tips on delaying it until that Thursday. I was wondering if I took a few days worth of birth control pills and then went off them would it push my ovulation off a few days. Any help would be appreciated.
