Hi all. I’m 16 and have many questions about precum. I’m planning to start sexual relationship with my girlfriend so I need to know more about it. What is precum? Do all guys have it? Does it happen every time I have sex? Does it contain sperm and if so how much? And, the most importantly, can a girl get pregnant from it? Thanks for all your answers.

You see, sperm is very fragile – much more than one can suppose. That is the reason why male body has to “do many things” to insure that sperm gets where it should. Precum is one of those things. The glands that produce semen also produce a substance (called precum) to neutralize the acids in the urethra (tube that runs through the penis which caries both urine and sperm). So, generally, the precum is designed to neutralize acids so it won't kill the sperm. All males produce precum, though the amount of it can vary. It may contain sperm, but not necessarily. There is no way to know if any sperm is in it. Precum is part of the body's system to protect sperm allowing it to impregnate a female. If you would like to start sexual relationship with your girlfriend, I strongly recommend you using condoms at ALL TIMES. That is the only way to be sure that you will not make her pregnant unwillingly. Hope this helps.
